making connections
A note to self ‘ It doesn’t have to be big, loud or showy it can be in your own way, small gatherings, hobbies and shared values.
I have never been so great/ or brave enough for networking often reliant on a hand to hold and a familiar face, it’s why life drawing feels great to host, conversation happens as and when, with a common ground we can all connect on, sharing materials too has the effect of jovial conversation from accidental nudging or ‘do you mind if I borrow that’ in a wonderful you’re not alone but feel free to sit and say not a word way.
Next week I Debut into the world of hosting a Still Flower Drawing Workshop in Collaboration with Bloom Sheffield, who will be bringing flowers from their community garden. With them will come ‘cornflowers, calendula, ammi majus, larkspur, snapdragons, phlox, eryngium and lots of beautiful wild greenery.’
Immersed in full summer blooms, most likely brimming at the seams after the glorious rain that has finally broken that humid weight, we will draw under the romantic light and historical beams of The Mowbray in Kelham Island. Feels like the perfect setting to celebrate that middle spot of the year (hello July) and catch up with friends before the hectic ness of the summer holidays.
There are a few tickets left to join us for drawing next week, doors at The Mowbray will open Thursday 7th July 7pm, with a fruit punch on arrival and drawing from 7.30pm.
